Q. What are Dermal Fillers?

A. Fillers such as Restylane, Hydrafill and Juvéderm fill out and reduce wrinkles whilst adding volume to different areas of the face. The main component of filler is hyaluronic acid, a biosynthesized version of one of the body’s own natural substances.

Q. How does it work?

A. The amount of hyaluronic acid produced by the body decreases as we age; as a result we lose moisture from the body, the skin becomes dryer, thinner and less supple. This makes the skin more prone to the development of wrinkles. Injecting Dermal fillers into the skin adds volume where the body’s own hyaluronic acid has been depleted thus reducing wrinkles in the treated area.

Q. How long does it last for?

A. It starts to take effect immediately and lasts approximately 6 months. Every face is unique and we recommend treatments every 6 months maintain the effect.

Q. Is the treatment painful?

A. Clients may feel slight discomfort during the treatment itself but it is rare for treatment to be painful. You will have a little redness that will subside after a few hours and should be able to return to work that day.
